Dion Jordan reinstated by NFL

Dion Jordon has been reinstated by the NFL, but with certain conditions. The NFL has allowed Dion Jordan to resume playing after being suspended for all of 2015. Jordan, from the Miami Dolphins, was suspended due to repeated substance abuse.

The press release reads:  "Jordan may join the Dolphins at training camp and participate in meetings, conditioning work and similar activities.  Once arrangements have been confirmed regarding Jordan's clinical resources in Miami, he will be permitted to participate in all preseason activities, including practices and games."

This makes Jordan, aged 26, eligible for Week 1 of the regular season. The No. 3 from Oregon did not make much of an impact during his debut as a rookie. He was suspended twice for six games in total for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substance Abuse. On April 15, 2015, he again tested positive for using enhancing drugs. This triggered his suspension for all of last year. Jordan now claims that he will take advantage of this opportunity given to him.

Prior to the start of the regular season, Dion Jordan will meet with the NFL to check on his progress. Depending on how this meeting goes and if he is able to meet the expectations, he will be able to begin participating fully on Week 1.  He will be evaluated during the process to determine his full reinstatement.

Dion Jordan was the third pick on the 2013 draft. His numbers do not necessarily match the expectations placed on him with just three sacks and 46 tackles in 26 regular-season games.  Nevertheless, the Miami Dolphins still believe that he can make a great contribution to their defense. His versatility can be of use in 2016 as the team is really yearning for someone to fill that position.
