The Game of Basketball

Well, when it comes to talk about sports being played in America. How can we forget about basketball? Even a 5-6 year little kid tries that dribbling of basketball. Yeah that’s the scenario of craze for basketball in USA. Not only in US, its popularity is spread all over the world.  Let’s know something about Basketball now.

Basketball is played on a rectangular court by two teams each having five players. The purpose of all players is to throw ball in a hoop of diameter of 46 cm and mounted to a high backboard of 10 feet.
A team gets a goal by dropping the ball through basket during the play and scores three points and two points by throwing ball behind the three-point line and from front of the line respectively. Even one point can be earned by free throws that are given to opposite team if a team do certain fouls. If after the whole time of game, both teams get equal score, an overtime is issued. Holding ball in hand for a while and then resume dribbling, Carrying ball in hand, lifting or dragging one’s pivot foot without dribbling ball; all this comes under violations to the game. The rule book of fouls includes hitting, slapping, pushing and blocking the person dribbling ball. Well, the list is much long.
Players like Wallace Bryant, Leron Black, Matt Brady, Jabari Parker and many more have always made America proud at international level.
