Game changer for the Wizards?

The Washington Wizards – coached by Randy Wittman – have won a very important game for them, especially coming after the loss they suffered against Atlanta on Sunday – 31 points difference. The Wizards managed to beat the San Antonio Spurs – coached by Gregg Popovich. This is a historical win for the Wizards as they haven’t defeated the Spurs in a head to head match in almost 10 years – since 2005.

The point guard of the Wizards, John Wall, declared that it felt good to win such a game. He has never before won against the Spurs either. Wall is responsible for 25 of the 101 points and although he didn’t score in the last quarter he did his part.

The same is valid for Kevin Seraphin who played in this game against French national team colleagues Boris Diaw and Tony Parker. Serpahin stated that he is very happy, especially because the French gathering after the match went in a different way than usual.

The two teams had different approaches for this match; while the Spurs took very great care of the ball the Wizards were better on shots and rebounds. This strategy worked for the Washington Wizards who scored 8 more points than the Spurs, making the final score 101 to 93. The Spurs’ game has been described as sloppy, and even though it wasn’t much in the first it became worse as the match closed to an end.

The San Antonio Spurs coach declared that the team has not been consistent in its performances. As he continues to say, this is due to the fact that the line-up is different every 2-3 games.
